If an army of ants has assembled a march on your home front, it’s easy to fight back and keep them outside the house. They may have us outnumbered, but we can still outsmart them. From simply cleaning up to placing strategically located bait traps, there are plenty of safe and cheap ways to deter these household pests. Ants invade our homes for a variety of reasons, such as finding food and water or refuge from the heat or rain, according to the University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program. The good news is if they don’t find what they’re looking for, they leave on their own. The bad news is one of the main things they’re looking for is food — particularly sweets and fats. And since home is where we like to keep our sweets and fats, we get ants. But that’s no reason to put out a welcome mat.
I have noticed that soome times if you put a line of boric acid that is not harmful to the pets and kids can do the same job as all these other chemicals that you can buy in store. The boric acid works more effectively as it kills the whole ant community because the ants will get it on there feet wen they cross the line and also is very poisonous to the ants.
